Mexico and Canada Agreement

This time I want to talk about an international event that is showing a possible and different perspective in the worldwide context, looking at the recent terrorist incidents like in Europe and Asia, even the economic actions taken by England which is getting out from the European Union called Brexit in contrast, Canada one of the most progressive countries around the world and nafta partner of Mexico confirmed that from the first of December this year the visa requirement imposed in 2009 for Mexicans traveling to that country will be removed.

It should be noted that the visa restriction was implemented by the previous Conservative Government of Canada with the argument of false asylum requests. In contrast, a new vision of cooperation and better opportunities is coming right now for both countries under this new administration.

But first, what is an agreement? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is “the act of agreeing", "a situation in which people share the same opinion", "a situation in which people agree", "an arrangement", "contract" and "by which people agree about what is to be”, and I would say one more, by which all the parties involved receive mutual benefits.

It is not a secret that a list of possible benefits from this agreement between México and Canada can be a reinforcement on: Global and regional leadership, students exchange programs, mutual development and economic growth, tourism, cattle industry, technology, medicine and cultural exchange that in my personal opinion at this final point one of the most important values for the human being, the understanding between these two wonderful cultures that have a lot to share, learn and growth together for a better future.

Additionally and supporting the previous areas of opportunity we find that México and Canada have in their economies a bilateral trade that includes $26,000,000 Canadian Dollars, 3,500 Canadian companies working in México and future investments around of $2,300,000 Canadian Dollars.

Finally, all of these facts look as very good news but we, citizens from both nations need to keep our attention and follow up the accomplishment of all of these goals. As a mutual benefit between México and Canada do not hesitate on taking the opportunities for our national, local and personal success.
